An impressive interview presentation about the university major

2020.2.21

Almost every day from February 17 to February 29, we had a special career life education class, our career life education teachers, Mr. Culver, Ms. Fortin, and Mr. Hillian, Mr. Sparrow invited lots of students who graduated from Nanyang Model private high school and their parents to do some presentations for us, which mainly about the university they are studying in, including their colorful university life, as well as major choices in their universities. Thanks to all of them. The information given by them is definitely useful for us to know that. And next time, I can do better by taking more notes and organize the information shared by the speaker when I’m listening to the presentation, which can help me remember the content of the presentation better.

(Some important screenshots that I organized)

What impressed me most was Crystal Suo’s presentation at 10 am on February 21st. She divided her presentation into three main points: the introduction of the UBC university and her major, her colorful university life and her personal advice for us. I think it was interesting because she shared lots of photos of her, about the beautiful scenery and some delicious food, which made me look forward to university life. Among these three parts, the most I like is her introduction to her current major because I’m interested in this major. Thanks to Crystal Suo, she gave lots of details about this major. Her major is Food and Nutritional Sciences, a competitive double major program that involves Food Science and Nutritional Science program, studying the connection between people, food and nutrients. The student who graduated from this major could do a unique contribution to the development of healthy foods for healthy living.

From her presentation, I also learn that there is no shortcut to success. Like Crystal Suo’s, she spent lots of time and energy on her study during her junior high school life, that’s why she can get her dream major in her dream university. I should work hard like her because there are many people who are competing with me. I can get my dream major only through hardworking, getting higher grades than others.

In the future, I will strengthen my self-consciousness and self-discipline to focus more on my studies instead of chatting online since it will be the first time for me to leave home and go abroad alone. If I can’t arrange my time properly, I will probably waste lots of precious time doing some meaningless things.
